LG Electronics (LG Electronics and LG Display) received the GM Innovation Award, which was announced at General Motors' 28th annual event, for developing the LG instrument panel using the revolutionary P-OLED technology in the cab of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade.
This year, more than 100 companies from 15 countries have been recognized as GM's leading suppliers, with only five suppliers receiving prestigious awards and high marks for innovation in the development and implementation of the latest technologies in the automotive industry. This is the second similar LG Electronics award from GM, the first was received in 2016 together with LG Chem for the supply of innovative automotive technologies and components for GM electric vehicles (EV).
The P-OLED cab technology in the Cadillac Escalade 2021 is not only an impressive centerpiece inside the iconic SUVs, but is also LG's first advanced Digital Digital Cockpit solution to be introduced in a commercial vehicle. The 38-inch display consists of three separate P-OLED panels, with a maximum diagonal of 16.9 inches. Three curved screens make up the instrument panel cluster to display basic vehicle information and an integrated center section, which serves as an information board for audio, video content and navigation players. LG Electronics (LG) presents its state-of-the-art digital signage solution, the innovative LG LED Signage panels (LSAA model), the latest in display technology and design. LSAA panels offer better image quality and easy installation than its popular predecessors.
LSAA is a block design that allows you to create large displays. LG has developed its solution within one LED block with dimensions of 600Wx337.5Hx44.9D mm, and provides power and signal transmission without additional external switching between the blocks, with a resolution of 4K UHD and an aspect ratio of 16:9. It supports the transmission and reception of signals wirelessly using the contactless technology of the LG connector, power is supplied to each panel using the pin connectors located at the edges of the LED unit.
The panel allows installers to connect multiple displays in series to achieve the desired size. Wall mounts and frame accessories have a number of mounting options and meet a variety of mounting requirements and customer needs.
LSAA panels contain a powerful AI image processor, which is found on LG's popular premium TVs. Bright images are created thanks to self-emitting technology and the small distance between pixels (1.2 mm), in the future this distance will be reduced to less than 1 mm. To ensure better product performance, a common cathodic method is used when the cathodes of the LEDs are common and connected to the same bus, to prevent excessive power consumption, supplying only the necessary voltage to each subpixel.
LG's latest LED signs will be available this month, starting in North America and Europe, after which it is planned to ship them to Latin America and Asia.

LG Display has announced preparations for the release of a new model of LG LSAB009 TV for the business segment of the market with a screen diagonal of 163 inches and support for 4K image quality. The TV screen will be manufactured using MicroLED technology and a pixel pitch of 0.9 mm. The TV is a separate section of 640 × 360 pixels, which are combined with each other.
The stated characteristics report a maximum brightness of 1200 cd/m2 (typical at 600 cd/m2) and a maximum contrast of 100,000:1 (typical 50,000:1).
The stated value of this device with a size of 236 inches in 8K image quality is in the range of 1.25 million dollars.
It is expected that the LG LSAB009 TV with a diagonal of 163 inches will be available for order after August 17, 2020.
