In simple words, conventional IPS displays contain white LED illumination (WLED), whereas, according to Nano IPS technology, an additional layer of nanoparticles (quantum dots) within 1 nm is applied to the diodes. Thanks to their use, absorption of light waves of a certain length, such as shades of yellow and orange, is carried out, which increases the accuracy of transmission of shades of red. In addition, the company was able to improve circuit design (specially developed line of powerful processors with artificial intelligence), so was able to significantly expand the functionality of television devices.

Updated line of powerful processors

It was for televisions such as NanoCell that the company developed a special line of powerful processors with artificial intelligence. Thanks to their capabilities, powerful analysis and processing of millions of images is carried out, followed by their adjustment, after which users get a high-quality detailed and clear image. In addition, the artificial intelligence of the processor analyzes the type of image (sports broadcasts, weather forecasts or films), the surrounding space and accordingly adjusts the brightness in such a way as to ensure the most comfortable broadcast of the content.


Sceen Backlight Unit

Usually in LED TVs the backlight is placed on the edges of the matrix and using special lenses of light flux is spread over the entire plane of the matrix. In Nano Cell TVs, the LED backlight is positioned on its plane of the matrix and using the capabilities of a powerful processor, full brightness is controlled, changing it as needed over a period of time. That is why when watching TV content, events unfold in the dark, the user is able to see a more detailed picture.


Using artificial intelligence


With each passing year of technological development multimedia devices become smarter and perform a list of automatic functionality of incredible complexity, so to ensure the highest quality reproduction of the color gamut is effectively used by the processor. CalMAN® automatic calibration technology has been created specifically for NanoCell TV viewing for maximum viewing comfort, independently adjusting the color gamut while maintaining its stability and color accuracy.



HDR support

Now NanoCell LED TVs have the capability to support High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats, which is an advanced video content processing technology that makes contrast and rich images used by cinematographers for its expressiveness and effectiveness, which is why many modern films and serials is shot in this format. Usually, LED TVs cannot support HDR format, as a large percentage of colors and shades disappear when played back on the TV screen.



Wide viewing angle

Everyone knows that LEDs have high color distortion ratios when viewed at an angle to the plane of the screen. After a lengthy search, LG engineers in NanoCell-type TVs were able to address this issue as efficiently as possible. Now, even when viewing TV at an angle to the plane of the image, the color rendering remains as accurate as possible, and all viewers will see a vivid and realistic image, regardless of their location indoors.
